Modern Mediterranean Retreat
The Calle Nuevo Residence was a multi-year journey from land purchase to final inspection—a massive hillside build that pushed design and engineering to their limits. The steep terrain required over 12,000 yards of earth movement, carefully balanced between cut and fill to avoid any export. Even the 350-foot driveway was designed to the maximum allowable grade to create a seamless connection to the home. Because city water was out of reach, we drilled a 1,200-foot-deep private well and integrated advanced drainage systems— v-ditches, catch basins, and underground diversions—to ensure slope stability and long-term site integrity.
Built For Tomorrow
The finished home spans 2,784 square feet of living space with approximately 1,900 square feet of garage area, including a full-length 55-foot pull-through RV bay. Sustainable features were central to the design, with a large solar array, upgraded insulation, and dual 5,000-gallon water holding tanks supplied by the well. A rich Mediterranean aesthetic was achieved through a 20/30 sand-spray stucco finish, decorative corbels along the eaves, stamped-and-stained concrete hardscape, and black-framed vinyl windows that accentuate the clean geometry of the structure.
It’s In The Details
Inside, every detail reflects custom craftsmanship and high-end comfort. Features include a QuietCool whole-house fan with remote control, an Extraordinaire wood-burning fireplace, and a dedicated structured-wiring panel for smart-home functionality. The interior showcases custom barn doors, floating cabinetry, solid white-oak finishes, Santa Fe smooth drywall, and Italian wood-grain porcelain flooring. A dual-entry master shower, designer fixtures, and chef-grade appliances complete the home’s refined, livable luxury—making this Modern Mediterranean Retreat both a technical achievement and a design statement.
